Jessica Messere is a classically trained cellist who lives in Decatur, GA with her partner Ethan, two children Taylor and Claire, and two furry children. Jessica takes her cello named Penelope to teach and play in symphonies, small ensembles, recitals, weddings, and in Celli. When not chauffeuring Penelope or her family around Atlanta, she enjoys CrossFit, practices Olympic Weightlifting lifts, reading, meditating, yoga, drinking a good Port while watching Star Trek movies and Dr. Who episodes.

Jessica started playing cello, in Virginia, at the age of 9 and later moved to Georgia. In Atlanta she took private cello lessons and participated in youth symphonies like Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (AYSO). She studied with the late Wolfgang Laufer at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earned her Master's degree with Martha Gerschefski at Georgia State University.
She has participated in various recording projects, professional symphonies, numerous international music festivals, and performed solo in masterclasses for famous cellists such as Norman Fisher, Evan Drachman, Hans Jorgen-Jensen, Darrett Adkins, Timothy Eddy, Andres Diaz, and Yo-Yo Ma.

Anahata literally means «unhurt, unstruck and unbeaten». This energy center is the very core of our being, the Chakra that connects us to our Higher Self as well as to the world around us. It is your healing center, the source of compassion, unconditional love & joy.

As Jessica & Nick play live, setting a vibrational baseline & melody inspired by this Chakra, Jenn will guide you through a slower paced, intentional, heart-opening yoga practice.

Jessica will be playing in the cello section of the Savannah Philharmonic. This concert is the Philharmonic's Season Finale. The concert will start with Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 featuring pianist Quynh Shannon. An appropriate final piece for the finale, Tchaikovsky’s last completed symphony, the “Pathétique,” heart-wrenching and impassioned, is a powerful ending to the 2015-2016 season!
